Helpful Hints in Dealing with Utah Divorce and Real Estate

Posted by eric_k_johnson on December 24, 2011

From my friends (really, they are my friends) at Crossland Title (who do not pay me or do anything for me in sharing this with you):

Did you Know?

  • If your spouse has a judgment, it can be a lien against your property, and you will not be able to sell or refinance without resolving it.
  • It’s very important to have your properties detailed with a legal description, not just an address in your divorce decree. You don’t want to have to chase down your ex-spouse after the divorce to get signatures!
  • Mortgage protection insurance is a good idea and is very affordable to protect both parties in the event of premature death. This subject is best brought up with your attorney during the negotiation process. (offered through CrossLand Insurance Services

CrossLand Title can assist you in resolving any of these issues!    Give John or Leasa a call 801-748-2212
