Without him perhaps even realizing it, he taught me what is to me the most important thing I could learn and know and be: do what is right, let the consequence follow. Dad was not perfect, but that made him all the more admirable for continuing to care and to make the effort, even though he (like all of us) regularly fell short and knew that he would.
