What useful things can Jeff Bezos’s divorce can teach us
Question: Amazon boss Jeff Bezos and wife MacKenzie are divorcing. Who do you think will get the custody of their 4 kids?
I don’t know enough about the family’s circumstances to know. Assuming both parents are personally “fit” to exercise legal and physical custody, the court will likely award the parties joint legal custody of the children (“joint legal custody” is the authority to decide matters of the children’s upbringing; things like health and medical care, education, moral and religious values and activities). Regarding physical custody, it comes down to a question of whether a parent is available to provide personal care and supervision associated with physical custody. If both parents are employed full-time or more (which I would guess is the case with the Bezoses), then the nanny will probably be the one doing much of the child rearing, so the parents may not fight over custody that much.
How much do you think Jeff Bezos’ wife, MacKenzie Bezos, will make in their divorce settlement?

Unimaginable amounts of child support and alimony, plus a division of marital assets on top of that. MacKenzie Bezos can easily come away from the divorce with hundreds of millions. If she wants to fight for it, she would almost surely received hundreds of millions of dollars, perhaps even multiple billions.
