Careers such as doctors, lawyers, engineers and accountants are revered. Do you think this will still be the case in 100 years? Or will other careers replace them?
The village blacksmith was once one of the most revered careers.
Eventually, most of the specialized knowledge and skill that currently (though decreasingly) makes contemporary human doctors and lawyers rare and indispensable will be rendered obsolete due advances to in computing and robotic technology.
And I would submit that doctors and lawyers are not revered today. While they are capable of doing very good and noble things, far too many doctors and lawyers are crooks, which has caused lawyers to be generally despised for literally centuries, and which has caused doctors in the last few decades to be increasingly despised as crooks too.
