The name by which you are known officially and legally. Not a name you’ve “adopted” informally (even if no one knows you by your legal given name) but what is not on your official government documents,. i.e., the name on your birth certificate, or the name that was ordered if you went through a legal name change proceeding in court, or the name you adopted if and when you changed your name when you married. Filing for divorce under a false name (i.e., not your legal name) could cause unnecessary complications in your divorce action.
